Beyond Z

I find that I am a bit at loose ends today as the last letter of the alphabet was posted yesterday. I am considering the snow, which has once again covered the ground, as a metaphor for the blank canvas that is today. May spring soon push forth!

           baking harmony

                                           allowing a view
                                               through the walls of present space
                                                    to the wide beyond

                             a variegated
                             kaleidoscope of healthy
                             grown from the ground up

wings folded waiting
for rains to unfurl  ~granting
those beneath dry flight

                                                                                a nondescript bag
                                                                                leafully longing for hot
                                                                                water to blossom

                                  for the sole purpose
                                  of upholding all that is
                                  given to this place

long practiced movement
recalls rocked babies long grown
found sitting here still

                                                            small stitches travel
                                                            round each brightly colored patch
                                                            a whole of pieces

keys open the heart's
ears to songs beyond the notes,
playing memories

white ringed with color
a palette of potential
seeks a brush with life

found after the rain
a cradled reminder of
both home and free flight
